Looking at safety at work in a different point of view, First Down parallels the dangers of a common work place to that of an intense football match. Team Rawfish (representations of the working person) is to face team Savage (representation of everyday work hazards) and as instructed by their coach (representation of Bosses and leaders at work) they are to wear their gear and stay alive to win the game. The arrogant and egotistical star quarterback ,Jason (representation of a negligent worker) , however doesn't see the need to wear his protective gear and waltzes out onto the field completely without his guards and completely vulnerable. Through a swift and painful lesson, Jason discovers the importance of safety precautions and the need to work closely with the team. After all, the game may change, but the rules don't.
